The Outlaw enters the World of Horror

Published by Clairvoyant Pictures & Entertainment

Director, Screenwriter, and Producer Gideon P. SaRa never fails to push the bounds with every project he makes. Many of his previous films carried with them a certain dark and macabre atmosphere to begin with. “My work carries a battle of light and dark. The darkness conveys the ruthless environments I’ve been forced to live in. These stories don’t always end with a ray of light. But they will end with a word.” This go-around his 3rd Black Pulp film pushes the envelope fully into the world of the horror genre.

“I’m a huge film lover. Therefore I love horror films as well. I was surprised to discover there were real horror fiends out here who watched nothing but horror 24/8 and nothing else. However, out of all film genres, I feel horror definitely has the most layers and range. You might watch every romance ever made, but you will never watch every horror film ever made.”

The Outlaw still believes there are places the genre has not yet gone. “Most 21st Century horror movies in America really don’t frighten me. Seriously! In my opinion, they just have really amazing cinematography and graphics. Being involved in this genre I'm learning there is a true art to horror storytelling. European countries like the UK, and France do that art very well. As do countries like Japan.”

“Many of my films are like modern day Canterbury Tales. I’ma Tzadik telling morality tales.”

Gideon’s current work ventures into the classic monster the zombie. The Late Great George Romeo changed the concept from the Voodoo monster of the early 1900s to the rural Living Dead that’s become the popular image of the zombie. 55 years later, SaRa transforms the concept back to its original design as lost souls controlled by a Witch Doctor. “My Culture has witnessed enough to tell horror stories in the thousands. After thinking about it, what better genre for me to get in than horror? I’m definitely going to bring some unique and interesting twists to the genre until they try to box me in. Then I’ll switch it up again.”
